I secretly love wandering around Utrecht Central Station. Even though it can be crazy busy and everyone seems to be in a hurry all the time, it is also a place where people start their workday, wave each other goodbye or reunite. The huge renovation happening over the last years did not only result in a fancy looking train station, but it is now also a true food Walhalla. Let me introduce you to my top 3 places to grab some food before you catch a train!

1. Julia’s

Okay this is an easy one because I am a huge fan of pasta (seriously I could eat it every day). The pasta is freshly made and you can literally top it off with almost everything you can think of. The only downside of Julia’s to me is that I am obviously not the only fan. The queue can get very long during dinnertime so if you are in a hurry this place is not the best.

2. KAUAI

One of my close friends recommended KAUAI after she visited this place in Capetown and I am so happy I discovered it! From healthy wraps to fresh-made salads and bowls: they have everything you could wish for. They also have an all-day breakfast menu and from that, I especially loved their smashed avocado toast with coffee. A great combination to start your day with!

3. LEON

I used to love the fried food at Smullers. But since I discovered the chicken aioli wrap with fries at LEON I quickly found a new favorite. The fries are amazingly crispy and I love the fact that at LEON they try to cook with organic food as much as possible. And when you feel like you need a refreshment: get one of their fresh lemonades because they are delicious!
