And when you think about which treatment you gonna give yourself, you can think of an extensive hairdressing session. I took one (to treat myself) at Hairdepartment in Utrecht.

Hairdepartment is located on the Korte Jansstraat for almost 10 years. Before, they had their store on the Oudegracht for like 10 years, so they have plenty of experience. For their location on the Korte Jansstraat they’ve chosen to keep the shop small and simple. Just a view chairs, a simple bar where you can sit while your waiting and some products are displayed. Besides that, the team often participates in competitions. They hire a model, choose a theme and do their best to make something very special. Last month, one of the team members was nominated for the Coiffure Award (the oscars among the hairdressers awards)!
I’m a dark blond girl and with the summer in sight I wanted to create a summer look. My hairdresser, Jo-ann, is the queen in coloring. So she suggested to do a balayage. With this type of colouring, you get just a subtle blond glow over your hair. Jo-ann looks very carefully at your hair beforehand so that the cut and colors reinforce each other. After the coloring, she gave a pleasant head massage while my hair was washed and blowed my hair in a beautiful model. Jo-ann used products from Kevin Murphy for my hair, which are products mainly made from sustainable raw materials.
I can only be positive about Hairdepartment. Their hairdressers, the interior, their location and the products they work with, it is all perfect! So, take that time and treat yourself :).
